Avalanche Peony

This striking beauty, introduced in 1886, has large, waxy double flowers that are bluish white with a faint pink centre, a pale yellow base and narrow, crimson edges on a few middle petals. Strong fragrance but not sweet. A compact, generally incurved flower with the tips of the outer petals recurved from its ball-like centre.
