Lemon Button Fern

A delightful, compact plant, it is the smallest of the Boston ferns and widely used both indoors and outdoors. When grown outside in frost-free areas, it is ideal in shaded beds and mixed container gardens, where it adds dramatic texture. Indoors, the Lemon Button Fern is often used as a houseplant and in terrariums. Its small, golden-green, buttonlike leaflets grow on dark green, arching stems that reach about a foot high and wide at maturity. Crushing or even just handling the fronds can produce a lemony scent. Prefers indirect light, warm temperatures, some humidity and evenly moist, loamy soil. Nontoxic to pets. Nephrolepis cordifolia 'Duffii'
