Ruffled Daylily Collection
Just as there are many kinds of daylilies, there are also many kinds of ruffles decorating them. All these frills help the flowers to deliver real floral impact.
This collection includes one each of the following five varieties:
- Rude Awakening: Elegantly ruffled flowers feature rich reddish-purple petals highlighted by a distinctive violet halo and an attractive double rim of violet and soft yellow. The gracefully recurved, 4–4½" wide blooms also display a bright chartreuse throat. They appear in abundance on sturdy stems above lush bluish-green foliage. Provides a dependable second flush of flowers.
- Marque Moon: Elegance and extravagance go hand in hand. Marque Moon is a fanciful beauty with fragrant, creamy white blooms highlighted by soft yellow throats, the colour radiating out onto each petal. A similar, sunny colour is repeated at the heavily ruffled edges. The 5–5½" flowers lure butterflies into the garden. Initial bloom is in midsummer.
- Exhibitionist: At a showy 6" wide, the single blooms flaunt a mesmerizing colour combo: very dark purple petals and a yellow green throat. But the real showstopper is the marbled dark purple and creamy yellow, tightly crimped ruffled edging that frames each petal like an ornate brooch. Exhibitionist produces about 20 buds across two branches and reblooms with a second flush of flowers in late summer
- Lemon Pop: Soft peach blooms with a lemony ruffled edge and green throat appear in midsummer, then return for an encore later in the season. Each flower reaches about 4" across and opens on sturdy 28–30" stems, with a generous bud count for extended colour.
- Sacha: Its delightfully fragrant, 6½" blooms feature heavily ruffled edges in sunny orange hues, flowers that are accentuated by a red eye zone and a double rim of red and yellow. A prolific rebloomer boasting 24 buds across its two branches.
